About

Jazz Stepping Stones has been actively serving since February 2012 as a community transitional housing program and facility for women between the ages of 18—55, who need to get their lives back on the right track. Serving last year 16 women and 6 children, currently housing 12 adults and 9 children located in Los Angeles, CA, we provide a clean, safe, and secure residential living.  Jazz Stepping Stones offers resources and a partnership to unemployed and underemployed women, as well as women with special circumstances.  Here are other services we would like to offer in the future, Daycare facilities, Educational resources, Emergency assistance for Battered Women, and Domestic violence and Transportation services.

The mission of Jazz Stepping Stones is to develop and strengthen positive social values and encourage self-reliance, by providing marketable occupational skills for women between the ages of 18—55.  Further, we offer each resident a supportive recovering community as they develop their sober lifestyle and continue to grow mentally, physically, spiritually, and socially.  Residents will increase their personal skill level in the areas of:

  • Personal accountability
  • Positive social interactions
  • Gainful employment
  • Financial responsibility
  • Self-esteem, and
  • Goal setting

Jazz Stepping Stones is based on a reality living experience.  Residents receive assistance with health referrals, job placement, family counseling, child care, and services necessary to assist them in better managing their lives and move continually in a positive, productive direction.

We address the physical, emotional, spiritual, and financial needs of our residents, through proven techniques and personalized development plans, which are targeted at holistic development and recovery.  Additionally, our competent and experienced staff assists them to build a life plan, aimed at permanently keeping them on the road to self-sufficiency and personal responsibility.

We empower our residents through education and training, which leads to employment and independent living.  We work together with our residents to identify the course of action that best allows them to free themselves of the need for social services.  Effective and responsible independence and self-reliance is the goal for every resident that comes into our program and facility.

Jazz Stepping Stones programs structured to assist our residents to realize their fullest social potential include, but are not limited to:

At Jazz Stepping Stones, we are confident that offering transitional housing resources aids in the transition from homelessness to self-sufficiency.  We provide motivation and safe refuge for people to evaluate their lives, during and after a time of crisis.  In a loving and supportive environment, residents are given tools, strategies, and encouragement to assist them to get back on their feet and lead productive and fulfilling lives.  Therefore, after 2—24 months of living at our facility, residents depart, self-sufficient, independent, and confident, with a restored sense of hope and purpose.
