Dear Friend,
Each year seems to pass more quickly than the last. This proved to be especially true this year, when Jazz Stepping Stones opened two additional homes for the women and children that we serve. And just as I have daily hopes and concerns about these women we have served; 328 women and 51 children, I am also able to reflect on and be proud of what has already been accomplished. From school graduations to family reunifications, from new approaches to life-long healthy eating habits to on-site tutoring, and yoga. Yes, yoga. Several of the women are gainfully employed and some enrolled in college programs which is providing tools to help them get back on track and back on the path to gainful employment, providing for their children… stepping stones for entry back into society.
Today, I am writing to ask for your help. Housing dues alone are not enough to support our program these days. It does not cover our operating expenses, much less the host of programs and support services that we provide. The strides we have made, in part described above, could not happen without donations from Friends like you! Your participation is crucial in maintaining our programs. We provide so much more than just a roof over our residents heads, we provide a home environment, and we provide structure and loving opportunity to call this temporary transition… home.
As we prepare to celebrate another Holiday Season we are reminded that miracles can and do happen. As we come together with loved ones during these holidays, and as you are thinking about end-of-year contributions you might make-I urge you to join me in making a contribution to Jazz Stepping Stones.
